SAN FRANCISCO — The Web has flourished as a freewheeling medium that gives any interest an audience. But as big business has tried to capitalize on those audiences, advertisers increasingly find their brands popping up in the Internet’s darkest corners.

I was reading where Google has hired people, mostly college students, to check out the sites where there ads are placed. It seems some are creatinh shell sites with very little content, just ads, in an attempt to make money.

This is a common problem, indeed. Portals like Google, Yahoo and MSN are simply attempting to deliver a statistically superior service to Internet users worldwide. There is no plausible rationale for any societal miscreant to ruin a perfectly good service for everyone.
